Job Description

The Mahopac Central School District seeks to fill the following anticipated probationary position for the 2025/2026 School Year: 

Supervisor for Secondary Special Education - Districtwide

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with a strong understanding of special education best practices, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive school environment.  

Essential qualifications include:

• Experience in problem solving and developing individualized interventions
• Ability to plan and supervise the work of faculty and staff
• Strong interpersonal and human relations skills
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• Experience with inclusive educational programming
• Supervises and evaluates staff in conjunction with the building principals.
• Knowledge of transition supports for students with disabilities
• Prior experience chairing CSE and 504 meetings
• NYS SBL/SDL certification required
