Job Description

The Mahopac Central School District seeks to fill the following position for the 2025/2026 School Year: 

Special Education Teacher – Leave Replacement – Mahopac Middle School

Anticipated Effective Dates – January 5, 2026 - June 26, 2026

Qualifications:

• Certified special education teacher (SWD K-12, all grades, or 5-9) with an additional certification in one of the following: Math, Science, Social Studies or English. 
• Knowledge in Integrated Co-teaching practices, specially-designed instruction
• IEP development, implementation and progress monitoring
• Strong ability to differentiate instructional goals

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Knowledge of management strategies for students with special needs including, but not limited to, those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disabilities, other health impairments and emotional disabilities.
