Job Description

The Mahopac Central School District seeks to fill the following anticipated probationary position for the 2026-2027 school year: 

Special Education/Biology Teacher – Mahopac Middle School

• Certified special education teachers (grades 6-12) 
• Biology (grades 5-9 extension)
• Knowledge in co-teaching practices, specially-designed instruction, and IEP development and management required. 
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities;
• Familiarity with Next Generation Science Standards
• Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning  
• Monitor student progress using multiple data points
• Provide small-group supplemental instruction focused on individual IEP goals, executive functioning, and specialized academic skill-building.
