Job Description

The Mahopac Central School District seeks to fill the following anticipated position for the 2026-2027 school year:

ENL Teacher – Long-Term Substitute

Location - Lakeview Elementary School

Anticipated Effective Dates - 8/31/2026-11/25/2026

Qualifications:

NYS certification in English to Speakers of Other Languages
Bilingual preferred
Flexibility and responsiveness to changing requirements
Ability to collaborate with colleagues throughout the District
Provide ENL instruction aligned to students’ English proficiency levels, supporting language development in listening, speaking, reading, and writing
Collaborate with classroom teachers to co-plan and support access to grade-level content
Differentiate instruction and provide push-in and/or pull-out services based on student needs
Monitor student progress, collect data, and contribute to progress reports and required documentation
Maintain compliance with ENL regulations and communicate effectively with staff and families
