Job Description

The Mahopac Central School District seeks to fill the following anticipated part-time position for the 2026/27 school year:

Special Education Teacher (.6) – Mahopac Middle School

Requirements:

• Certified special education teacher (grades 6-12) 
• Knowledge in co-teaching practices, specially-designed instruction, and IEP development and management required. 
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities;
• Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning  
• Monitor student progress using multiple data points
• Provide small-group supplemental instruction focused on individual IEP goals, executive functioning, and specialized academic skill-building.
• For the remaining .4 position of the school day, the candidate will serve as a building substitute
