Speech Language Pathologist

The Mahopac Central School District seeks to fill the following probationary position for the 2025/2026 School Year: 

Speech Language Pathologist – Lakeview Elementary School

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders in students (K-5)
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals in accordance with IDEA
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and progress reports
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student success
  • Provide speech and language therapy in individual and group settings
  • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary teams, and staff development
  • Support students across general and special education settings
  • Function as a case manager and assist in coordinating and obtaining other needed services.
  • Participate in MTSS meetings, collaborating with teachers and specialists to support students at all tiers (Tier 1, 2, and 3) & provide targeted interventions for students within Tier 2/Tier 3 needs
  • NYS Speech certification required
  • Three years experience working with young children as a speech/language pathologist is preferred

School Psychologist

The Mahopac Central School District seeks to fill the following probationary position for the 2025/26 School Year:

School Psychologist – Lakeview Elementary School

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Elementary School Psychologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide direct and consultative support to students, families, and staff to foster academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. The psychologist will play a key role in the development of individualized education programs (IEPs), intervention plans, and overall student wellness initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Valid NYS Certification as a School Psychologist (or equivalent certification in applicable state)
  • Master’s degree or higher in School Psychology
  • Experience conducting comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and writing detailed, data-driven reports
  • Knowledge of MTSS/RTI frameworks and ability to collaborate on tiered academic and behavioral interventions
  • Ability to serve as a key member of the Committee on Special Education (CSE), including presenting evaluations, interpreting results, and contributing to IEP development
  • Experience chairing 504 meetings and facilitating the development and implementation of appropriate accommodations
  • Strong organizational skills to manage timelines, testing protocols, documentation, and meetings
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills for working with students, staff, and families
  • Commitment to being an active member of the school community and collaborating with staff to support a positive school climate
  • Passion for supporting the development of a socially and emotionally sound school environment that fosters student resilience, empathy, and well-being
