• Valid Teaching Certification (Elementary Education required; Secondary English certification preferred)
• Experience teaching 6th grade English/Language Arts
• Strong background in literacy instruction for students at all performance levels
• Deep understanding of the Science of Reading framework and evidence-based literacy practices
• Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction to support diverse learners
• Experience working in co-taught and integrated classroom settings
• Proven collaboration with special education and support staff to meet student needs
• Experience designing and implementing standards-aligned curriculum
• Demonstrated skill in assessment development and data-driven instructional planning
• Ability to analyze student performance data to inform instruction and intervention
• Experience supporting struggling readers and writers as well as extending advanced learners
• Strong classroom management skills that foster a structured, inclusive environment

• Special Education Certification
• Wilson Reading System Level 1 Certification
• Demonstrated experience implementing IEP’s and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Strong background in structured literacy and evidence based reading interventions
• Experience working with students performing below grade level in reading and writing
• Proven ability to deliver explicit, systematic, multisensory reading instruction
• Experience using diagnostic assessments to inform instruction and monitor student progress
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Strong classroom management skills in inclusive and/or self-contained settings
• Experience collaborating with general education teacher to support inclusion
• Strong communication skills with families, staff and related service providers
