Orchestra Teacher

The Mahopac Central School District seeks to fill the following anticipated probationary position for the 2025/2026 School Year: 

Orchestra Teacher – Mahopac Middle School

  • The position includes performing ensembles and  group lesson instruction for grades 6-8. 
  • Candidates should have strong proficiency on violin, viola, cello, and bass, with the ability to teach and demonstrate basic, fundamental and advanced string-instrument technique. 
  • The ability to instruct alternative styles (e.g., fiddle, folk, mariachi) is a plus.
  • Candidates must be excellent musicians, possess good communication skills, be positive, enthusiastic, well organized, willing to work collaboratively as part of a team, and NYS certified in K-12 music.
  • The Mahopac Central School District has been recently named one of NAMM’s Best Communities for Music Education and the district is proud to offer students a 4-12 orchestra program.

Special Education Teachers (2025-2026) - Mahopac Middle School

The Mahopac Central School District seeks to fill the following anticipated probationary positions for the 2025/2026 School Year: 

Special Education Teachers – Mahopac Middle School

  • NYS Special Education Grades 5-9 or K-12 certification required.
  • Dual certification in 5-9 Math, Science, English or Social Studies preferred.
  • Special Education Teacher with experience teaching in a special class setting. 
  • The ideal candidate would have experience progress monitoring goals. 
  • Experience with managing behavior or augmentative & alternative communication (AAC) a plus.
